Massively multiplayer online games (MMO) are played on a larger scale than normal with more players. The world of the game is stored entirely on a server so users must log into an MMO through their preferred game server. Typically you can group up with a few players, do raiding instances with larger groups or just run around the open world doing missions or quests.
